Pool Rules & Guidelines
Following are general guidelines by which the Bittersweet Pool will operate:
Please take a moment to review this information as well as the Pool rules and also discuss the guidelines and rules with your children.
The Bittersweet Pool & Tennis Club is operated for the enjoyment of the members of the club who are in good standing.
The pool season will be Memorial Day through Labor Day. The pool will be open 7 days a week and manned by a manager and certified lifeguards.
Inclement weather may dictate that the pool is closed, at the sole discretion of the manager, lifeguard staff and Board of Directors.
Guests are welcome to use the facility when accompanied by a member in good standing with the Club and are subject to all rules and regulations. Members are limited to five guests at a time.
Access to the pool is available through the front desk only. The pool area is not to be entered from the tennis court gate.
The Patio is available to all members to reserve for parties within pool hours. Reservations are made at the front desk by filling out a party form and receiving manager approval. Parties are scheduled on a first-come first-serve basis.
Guest passes are allowed to be purchased by members only. Passes can only be used when accompanied by a member. All passes to be kept in the front desk area.
Bicycles should be parked in the front of the clubhouse at the designated area.
No skateboards, roller blades, or scooters allowed in the pool area.
SMOKING IS PROHIBITED IN THE POOL.
The Pool Manager and/or Lifeguards are in charge and have full authority to enforce all rules, both written and unwritten.
Swimming is only allowed when there is a lifeguard on duty.
Red Wristband policy for all child swimmers, until they pass the required swim test.
Members are required to stop at the desk when entering/exiting the pool to check in and out of the computer system.
All swimmers must wear a swim suit. T-shirts, cut offs, sweat pants, etc. are not permitted.
Infants must wear swim diapers in addition to swimming suit. (Rubber pants over swim diaper suggested).
Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult to enter the pool.
Any child wearing a life jacket or swimsuit with floats in it must be within arms reach of a parent at all times in the water.
Flotation devices allowed in the pool, but not as a substitute for swimming experience.
“Adult Swim” will be called once each hour for fifteen (15 minutes). Only adults eighteen (18) years of age and older are allowed in the pool during “Adult Swim”. Babies under 24 months are allowed in the pool with parents during “Adult Swim”.
No running, horseplay, inappropriate behavior or excessive splashing allowed in the pool area.
Proper behavior is required while playing basketball.
Profanity, improper or vulgar remarks are prohibited.
Food and/or beverages must remain off the deck areas and away from the pool.
Glass containers are prohibited in the facility!
Smoking is prohibited in the facility.
Lifeguard stands are off limits. Refrain from speaking to or distracting lifeguards.
No running along the deck of the pool.
No diving into unauthorized areas of the pool.
Diving, jumping or hanging from the starting blocks is not allowed, except for swim team during swim meets or practice.
Hanging or climbing on lane lines not allowed.
The management reserves the right to enforce any unwritten rules deemed necessary for the safety of our patrons.
Weight limit of 250 lbs.
One person on the diving board at a time.
Wait at the bottom of the stairs until the previous diver has entered the water.
One bounce on the diving board allowed.
Wait until the previous diver is out of the water before diving.
Standing or swinging on diving board rails is not allowed.
Sitting on or hanging from diving board is not allowed.
Divers must jump straight ahead off diving board – not to either side of the diving board.
All divers must use the ladder to exit the pool.
Do not adjust the diving board without the approval of the pool manager.
Goggles, masks, toys, etc. not allowed on diving board.
The wading pool is not life-guarded. Parents must watch and are responsible for children in the wading pool.
Appropriate swim wear and swim diapers are required.
